Here at St. Paul’s, we strive to support member-selected local and global mission organizations. Following is a list of the missions that we support. Whether joining one time or on an ongoing basis, we invite you to help serve others in our communities and beyond. If you are interested in being a part of missions, please contact the church office.
Local Missions
Christian Education
Christ Community Lutheran School & Mayer Lutheran High School
At St. Paul’s we believe there is no better example of character, strength, and compassion than our Lord, Jesus Christ. For more than 75 years, it has been one of our core missions to help children build a Christian foundation as they grow academically. Through Christian education, we are able to help spread the Good News of Jesus and His values to the children of Watertown and the surrounding communities.
Watertown Friends For Life Food Shelf
Monetary and food donations are accepted year-round at St. Paul’s to donate to the Watertown Friends For Life Food Shelf. We are happy to provide non-perishable groceries to members of our community that may need help getting through tough times. Donations are collected outside of the church office.
- Total 2023 Donations: 1,691lbs. and $445 cash
- Total 2022 Donations: 2,122lbs. and $736 cash
National & International Missions
Orphan Grain Train
The Orphan Grain Train assists people in need by gathering, sorting, packing, and distributing food, clothing, medical supplies, equipment, and educational materials for those experiencing poverty in the U.S. and internationally. They work through the church so the Gospel always accompanies their service. Although this is an ongoing project, at St. Paul's, goods are gathered annually during the month of March.
LWML Mite Boxes
Based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of "mites", or offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund local and national mission grants and implement the LWML program. Mite Boxes are placed throughout St. Paul's for donations and boxes are available to the congregation in the office.
Missionary Support
Each year, we support missionaries who share the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus of Christ with those who have not heard the Good News.
Megan (Schilling) Silva and her husband, Caleb, are mission partners with Action International Ministries and serve as a full-time missionary in Lisbon, Portugal. There, they partner with local churches to disciple youth and young adults within the community so they may be trained and equipped to share God’s Word near and far.

Rachel is a mission partner with Mission of Christ Network and serves as a teacher at Dakar Academy in Senegal, located in West Africa. Her students include the children of missionaries, UN and embassy workers, and other local and expatriate families. Her teaching allows missionaries to be able to stay and continue to spread the Gospel with students through her love of English.
